UNISA Online Registration 2026 Dates
Everything You Need to Know About UNISA’s 2026 Online Registration Dates:
Unisa online registration is the process where students (both new and returning) complete their registration for courses or programs via the University of South Africa’s online portal. This system allows students to enrol in their chosen qualifications, select courses, and submit required information entirely online without needing to visit the campus physically Applicants, including new applicants and Unisa students applying for a new qualification, may register only after receiving and accepting an offer of placement online, with Unisa reserving the right to cancel registrations for incorrect admissions. Re-registering students must enrol for the 2025 academic year during the designated period, and all registered students are required to activate their myLife e-mail account, which will serve as the primary official correspondence channel with the university. Registration for master’s and doctoral qualifications for the 2026 academic year is open from 10 January to 30 April 2025 (some exceptions apply). Semester 2 registrations for the MBA and MBL qualifications will open on 28 June and close on 19 July.
The University of South Africa (UNISA) is renowned for its accessible, flexible approach to higher education, serving thousands of students both locally and internationally. As the 2026 academic year approaches, UNISA has outlined key dates for its online registration process, a crucial step for all prospective and returning students. Meeting these deadlines is mandatory—late registrations will not be accepted, and applications submitted after the closing date will not be considered.
The online registration process is designed to be user-friendly, but it requires careful attention to detail. Students must ensure they have a valid student number and, for first-time applicants, successful admission before proceeding to register. UNISA provides a free email address upon registration, which is essential for all university communications.
Registration dates can vary depending on the qualification, such as undergraduate degrees, diplomas, postgraduate diplomas, and honours degrees, so it’s important to consult the specific schedule for your chosen program. Typically, registration for the second semester opens in June and closes in July, with payment deadlines extending into August.
To avoid disappointment, students are strongly encouraged to prepare all required documents in advance and complete their registration well before the final deadline. UNISA’s official website and the myUnisa portal are the primary sources for up-to-date information and support throughout the registration period. Staying informed and acting promptly is the key to a smooth registration experience at UNISA for the 2026 academic year
