For students enrolling in undergraduate qualifications, honours degrees and postgraduate diplomas, UNISA has confirmed its semester registration windows. Specifically, Semester 2 registration for all undergraduate qualifications, honours degrees & postgraduate diplomas with semester modules will be open from 29 June – 23 July 2027. If you fall within this category, it is essential to complete your module registration within this period to ensure your academic record is activated for the second semester.
For postgraduate research students, the Registration to Unisa 2027-2028 process opens much earlier. Registration for selected master’s and doctoral qualifications will be open from 7 January to 30 April 2027. This extended period allows M&D students time to finalise their research proposals and supervisor allocations.
However, take special note if you are applying for professional master’s programmes. Registration for the MCompt, Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Master of Business Leadership (MBL) will be open from 7 January to 21 February 2027 only. Semester 1:
All prospective students are advised to register for their courses during the registration period. Below is the registration date for UNISA semesters 1& 2 for the 2027-2028 academic year:

Semester 2:
- Semester 2 registration for undergraduate qualifications, honours degrees and postgraduate diplomas is open from 3–28 July (semester modules only).
- Semester 2 registration for MBA and MBL qualifications is open from 3-28 July (semester modules only).
- Semester 2 registrations for Short Learning Programs are open from 22 May to 14 July.
NB: All applicants, i.e., new applicants & Unisa students who applied for admission to a new qualification, can only register if they have received an offer of placement from the University of South Africa, Unisa, and have been able to accept the offer online. Unisa has the right to stop or discontinue your registration process and/or to cancel your registration if you were incorrectly admitted to a qualification. Also, re-registering students have to register for the 2027-2028 academic year during the correct registration period.
How To Download The Unisa Registration Form
Follow the process below to download the Unisa registration form for the 2027-2028 year:
- Visit the Unisa Website: Go to www.unisa.ac.za.
- Log in to myUnisa: Use your student number and login details to access your student portal.
- Go to the Registration Section: Once logged in, navigate to the Registration tab.
- Download the Form (If Available): Most registrations are completed online; however, if a downloadable form is required, it will be available in the registration section or student resources.
How To Register Online At UNISA 2027-2028
Follow the steps below to complete the online registration successfully.
- Visit the Unisa registration website: https://registration.unisa.ac.za
- Choose the qualification level, and then click “Go”.
- Please enter in the block provided your student number and the other details as needed. If you don’t have a student number, you won’t be able to continue. You will then have to apply online for admission during the next application period. In that process, a student number will be given and communicated to you
- You must check your details on the screen. You can make changes to any contact details that are missing or not correct.
