The University of South Africa (UNISA) online application for admission window is open for applications from NEW and Returning students. The online application portal is open to all High school graduates of South Africa and Foreign students who desire to study at this prestigious university, provided they meet the admission requirements.

UNISA Applications for the 2024-2025 academic year must be done online on the official website of the institution with all with all necessary documents. To apply, complete the online application form with the required information, upload certified copies of required documents, make payment of your application fee( if applicable) and submit before the closing date.

UNISA Applications Admission Date 2024-2025

Unisa online application date vary based on the level of study, qualification of study and other factors. Below are the application date for the various qualification at UNISA:

  •  Undergraduate qualifications (higher certificates, advanced certificates, diplomas, advanced diplomas & degrees) Application: 11 August to 14 October.
  • Honours degrees & postgraduate diplomas: 11 August to 14 October
  • Master’s & doctoral qualifications: 8 September to 14 November

Who Must Apply to UNISA 2024-2025?

  • Everyone wanting to start a new qualification must apply for admission. This includes first-time Unisa applicants and Unisa students changing to a new qualification and/or specialisation.
  • If you are completing a higher certificate, you must apply for admission if you want to continue with further undergraduate studies.
  • You must re-apply for admission if you previously applied for admission and were offered a space, but did not accept the offer and/or did not register for any reason.
  • Everyone planning to enrol for classes at a Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) college under the Unisa-TVET agreement must apply for admission.

UNISA Application Admission Requirements 2024-2025

All applicants must ensure that they:

  •  meet the statutory and college admission requirements for my qualification(s) of choice.
  •  meet the minimum academic points score (APS) for my qualification(s) of choice.
  • have a valid e-mail address and cellphone number, and I accept that Unisa will communicate with me during the application process using this e-mail address and cellphone number.
  •  If you do not have an e-mail address, you may create a free e-mail address via Gmail before you start the application process.

NOTE: Remember to save your e-mail address and password.   It is very important that you check your e-mails regularly for communication from Unisa about your application.

UNISA Application Documents Required 2024-2025

All applicants starting a new qualification must upload all the required documents. Below are the documents required for application:

  • Copy of your school qualifications (eg Senior Certificate, National Senior Certificate)
  • Copy of your official tertiary academic record(s) (if applicable) (internet copies will not be accepted)
  • Copy of your ID document (RSA students) or ID/passport (international students)
  •  Copy of your marriage certificate (if applicable) or divorce decree (if applicable)
  • Sworn translations of documents if they are not in English or Afrikaans

How to Apply To UNISA online 2024-2025

Follow the steps below to apply online at UNISA:

  • Visit the official website of UNISA
  • Navigate to the registration portal and click on ” Apply for Admission
  • Click On “Apply Now”
  • Complete the application form with the required information
  • Upload certified copies of supporting documents
  • Pay your non-refundable application fee of R125.00
  • Crosscheck your application to ensure that your application is complete

However,If your application for admission to study through Unisa is incomplete, you will have to re-apply during the next application period.
