Apply to Unisa for the 2027-2028 study year by the following dates:
- Applications for admission to undergraduate qualifications for the 2027 academic year are to be open from 17 August to 09 October 2026.
- Applications for admission to honours degrees and postgraduate diplomas for the 2027 academic year are to be open from 17 August to 09 October 2026
- Applications for admission to master’s and doctoral degrees for the 2027 academic year are to be open from 01 September to 20 November 2026 (some exceptions apply).
- Applications and registrations for Unisa’s Short Learning Programmes for the 2027 academic year will open from 8 January to 15 February 2027 for 1st semester modules and from 8 January to 15 March 2027 for 2nd semester and year modules.
NB: All applications must be completed and submitted before the closing date. Due to limited spaces, late applications may not be considered.
Unisa Online Application Required Documents 2027-2028
To be able to apply online via www.unisa.za, you need to have the following required documents:
- A copy of your official tertiary academic records (if applicable)
- A copy of your marriage certificate or divorce decree (if applicable)
- A copy of Sworn translations of documents if they are not in English or Afrikaans
- A copy of your school qualifications (eg Senior Certificate, National Senior Certificate)
- A copy of your ID document (RSA students) or ID/passport ( for international students)
NB: Please the University of South Africa (UNISA) is not providing scanners or electronic devices. So, make sure that all your documents are scanned and uploaded to an electronic device before you begin the online application process.
