The University of South Africa (UNISA) is the country’s largest university, attracting one-third of all higher education students. UNISA has a number of institutions and affiliations, as well as over 400,000 students, including international students from over 130 countries. UNISA offers a variety of vocational and academic programmes for undergraduates, postgraduates, honours, masters, and doctoral students. Application Dates For Admission At UNISA 2024-2025

For higher certificates, advanced certificates, diplomas, and advanced diplomas, and degrees, UNISA will accept online applications from 1 September to 30 November 2023. UNISA Honours degrees and postgraduate diplomas applications are open from September 1 to December 15, 2023, and Master’s and doctorate credentials are open from September 15 to November 6, 2023.

Who Can Apply To UNISA For 2024-2025

The University of South Africa, UNISA application for admission to the 2024 academic year is basically online. If you want to study at UNISA for a new Undergraduate, Postgraduate, Honours, Masters and Doctoral programme, you have to apply for admission. The following people may apply to UNISA for 2024-2025 academic year;

  • first-time Unisa applicants
  • Those in their final year of an undergraduate qualification who wants to continue with postgraduate studies.
  • Applicants who are in their final year of a qualification wishing to begin a master’s or doctoral qualification
  • Candidates completing a higher certificate or any other programme who wants to continue with undergraduate studies
  • Applicants who earlier on applied for admission and were not able to be offered a space.
  • Applicants who were offered a space and accepted the offer but did not get the opportunity to register
  • UNISA Students willing to apply for a new qualification
  • Students who registered for master’s & doctoral qualifications but did not register for the 2024-2025academic year and now wish to continue with their studies.
  • UNISA students who are changing to a new qualification or specialisation of their current qualification.

UNISA Application Requirement 2024-2025

The following documents are required to apply for the 2024-2025 academic year;

  • Copy of your school qualifications (eg Senior Certificate, National Senior Certificate)
  • Copy of your official tertiary academic record(s) (if applicable) (internet copies will not be accepted)
  • Copy of your ID document (RSA students) or ID/passport (international students)
  • Copy of your marriage certificate (if applicable) or divorce decree (if applicable)
  • Sworn translations of documents if they are not in English or Afrikaans
