Unisa Application Dates 2025-2026: unisa application status
Applications for admission to Undergraduate Qualifications ( including higher certificates, advanced diplomas, and degrees) for the 2025 academic year will be open from August 19th to October 11th. All applications for admission must be submitted online within this designated application period.
Anyone wishing to begin a new qualification at Unisa must go through the admission process, which includes:
- First-time applicants
- Continuing Unisa students changing to a new qualification or specialisation
- Applicants who have applied for admission before and were not offered a space or were offered a space accepted the offer but failed to register.
- Students completing a higher certificate or any other programme want to pursue further undergraduate studies.

Application Date for Honours degrees & postgraduate diplomas
Application for admission to Honours Degrees and Postgraduate Diplomas for the 2025 academic year will be available from 19th August to 11 October but CTA programmes have an early deadline. If there are still spaces after the set deadline, additional application dates will be released or announced.
Everyone wanting to start a new qualification at Unisa, including:
- First-time applicants
- Continuing Unisa students changing to a new qualification or specialisation of their current qualification
- Applicants in their final year of an undergraduate qualification who wish to continue with postgraduate studies
Application Date for Master’s & Doctoral Degrees
Master’s and Doctoral Degrees application for admission 2025 academic year will be available from 2 September – 22 November.
Everyone wanting to begin a new qualification at Unisa, including:
- First-time applicants
- Unisa students wanting to apply for a new qualification
- Students in their final year of a qualification wanting to start a Master’s or Doctoral qualification
- Previously registered Master’s & Doctoral students who did not register for the 2024 academic year but wish to continue with their studies
Documents Required To Apply At Unisa 2025-2026
The following documents are required to apply at Unisa for 2025;
- Copy of your school qualifications (eg Senior Certificate, National Senior Certificate)
- Copy of your official tertiary academic record(s) (if applicable) (internet copies will not be accepted)
- Copy of your ID document (RSA students) or ID/passport (international students)
- Copy of your marriage certificate (if applicable) or divorce decree (if applicable)
- Sworn translations of documents if they are not in English or Afrikaans
