Undergraduate qualifications
Application for enrollment for the 2021 academic year undergraduate qualifications(higher certificates, advanced certificates, diplomas, advanced diplomas & degrees) will be open from 1 September to 30 November 2020.
Everyone wanting to commence a new qualification at Unisa must apply for admission. This involves:
- First-time applicants
- Continuing Unisa students changing to a new qualification or specialisation
- Applicants who have applied for admission before and were not offered a space or were offered a space, accepted the offer but fail to register.
- Students completing a higher certificate or any other programme and want to pursue with further undergraduate studies.
Application Procedure
Applicants can apply for a maximum of two(2) qualifications, ranked in order of preference but will register for only one should both qualification applied for be successful. Unisa will notify applicants on the outcome of their application, indicating which qualification they have been accepted for and will offer them a space for the period they applied for (i.e. semester 1).
Now applicants are to accept or reject the offer within the given time frame. Unisa will withdraw the offer and give the space to another applicant if you miss the set deadline. First-time applicants will be required to finish the First-Year Experience (FYE) Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) in order to be able to accept Unsia’s offer.
Applicants are required to accept only one offer. This implies that when an applicant accepts an offer for one qualification regardless of whether it is your first or second choice qualification, the other offer will automatically fall away. If you accept Unisa’s offer then you must register for the time for which admission was granted to you (i.e. semester 1). Once you do not register for the appropriate semester of study, you will need to reapply for admission during the next application time frame.
