Unisa Registration Form: A Complete Guide for Students:

The Unisa registration form is an essential document for enrolling in any course at the University of South Africa. Whether you are a first-time student, returning for another qualification, or transferring from another institution, the registration form is where you officially select your modules and confirm your enrollment. Applicants can register only after receiving admission confirmation from Unisa, while re-registering students, those who deferred their studies, and coursework master’s students who passed their research proposal in 2026 must register online during the 2027 registration period. If the research proposal result is pending, wait for communication from the Master’s and Doctoral Administration Support Section before registering for the mini-dissertation.

Registering for studies at the University of South Africa (Unisa) involves completing a specific registration form, an important step for both new and returning students.  This form gathers essential personal, academic, and contact details necessary for enrollment. It serves as the official record of your chosen qualifications and modules.

The Unisa registration form is available online through the university’s official website during designated registration periods. Prospective students must ensure they meet the minimum admission requirements for their desired qualification before attempting to register. Accurate completion of the form is vital to avoid delays or rejection of the application.

Key sections on the form often include personal identification information, previous academic history, and selection of modules for the upcoming academic year. Students must carefully review their choices before submission, as changes after the deadline can be complex. After submitting the form, students usually receive a confirmation and details regarding fee payments and study material access.

If you are planning to study at the University of South Africa (Unisa), understanding the registration process is key to ensuring a smooth start to your academic journey. This article provides a detailed guide to the Unisa registration form, helping you navigate the process from start to finish.

Who must register At Unisa?

  • Applicants may only register once they have received confirmation from Unisa that their application for admission has been accepted.
  • Re-registering students (who made sufficient progress during the current academic year) and students who officially deferred their studies must register online during the approved registration period.
  • Coursework master’s students who passed the research proposal module in 2026 may re-register for the 2027 academic year. If your research proposal result is not available when registration opens, please wait for formal communication from the Master’s and Doctoral Administration Support Section before attempting to register for the research component mini-dissertation.
  • Should you wish to start a new qualification, please apply online for admission during the next application period or check whether the qualification for which you intend to apply is on the list of qualifications that you can apply for until the end of June 2027.
