In a medium to large organization, a skilled learner would have the competence to develop and operate an effective safety program independently. The trained learner would be eligible to register with the Board of Registration for Occupational Health, Safety and Related Professionals as an Occupational Safety Specialist, provided that he meets all requirements set.

  • Short Course in the Occupational Health and Safety

The key aim of this qualification is to provide qualifiers with awareness, relevant skills, applied skills and the requisite occupational health and safety attitudes that prepare them to be lifelong, employable, self-employed students and contributors to society and the business community.

The duration for short course in the occupational Health and Safety is six months. This course is intended for people studying for their Government Certificate of Competency at all levels of management, health and safety professionals and engineers, union members and workers who want to gain insight into the application of the Act as well as appreciate what their responsibilities include and what their rights are in terms of the Act.
