Key Steps for MyUnisa Registration in 2026-2027:

Unisa is open for applications for undergraduate and postgraduate programs for the 2025-2026 academic year.  The Unisa admission portal is open to all South African high school graduates and other countries, provided the admission requirements of the university are met. Applications for admission to honors degrees and postgraduate diplomas for the 2026 academic year are to be open from 21 August to 11 October 2026.

All applications must be submitted online during the appropriate application period to be considered for admission to study through UNISA for undergraduate qualifications such as diplomas, advanced diplomas & degrees, higher certificate programs or courses, and advanced certificate courses for the 2026–2027 academic year.

Below are the online application dates for the various qualifications offered at Unisa for the year 2026:

Unisa Undergraduate Qualifications Application Date For 2026:

• Applications for admission to undergraduate qualifications for the 2026 academic year are to be open from 21 August to 11 October 2026.

Unisa Honours degrees & postgraduate diplomas Application Date For 2026:

• Applications for admission to honours degrees and postgraduate diplomas for the 2026 academic year are to be open from 21 August to 11 October 2026.

Unisa Master’s & Doctoral Qualifications Application Date For 2026:

• Applications for admission to master’s and doctoral degrees for the 2026 academic year are to be open from 2 September to 22 November 2026 (some exceptions apply).

Unisa Master’s & Doctoral Qualifications Application Date For 2026:

• Application and registration for Unisa’s Short Learning Programmes are open from 14 May to 19 July.

What You Need To Apply At Unisa 2026

To apply at Unisa, you are advised to check whether you qualify for admission to the qualification of choice. Also, see to it that you have the important documents ready to upload during the application process. To apply meet the following requirements:

• The Statutory and Admission requirements for your qualification(s) of choice.
• Minimum Academic Points Score( APS) for your qualification(s) of choice.
• Have a valid Email Address and a Cell phone number.
• You must check your email frequently for information about your application from Unisa.

The following are the necessary or supporting documents you will need to upload during the application process:

• Copy of school qualifications
• Copy of official tertiary academic record(s) (if applicable)
• Certified copy of your ID document (RSA students) or ID/passport (international students)
• Copy of your marriage certificate (if applicable) or divorce decree (if applicable)
• Sworn translations of documents if they are not in English or Afrikaans

Applications for postgraduate and undergraduate qualifications must be done online on the official website of Unisa at www.unisa.ac.za. Follow the steps provided below to apply online at Unisa for the 2025-2026 academic year;

• Visit the UNISA website and log in.
• Select “Apply for Admission” from the application portal’s menu.
• Choose “Apply Now”
• Complete the application form with the necessary details.
• Publish a certified copy of any supporting documents.
• Pay the non-refundable application fee of R125.00.
• Verify that your application is complete by checking it.
• Send in your application by the deadline.
