Unisa application closing date differ based on the period of application and course/program you are applying to study. The various application dates are provided below;           

Undergraduate Qualifications (Higher Certificates, Advanced Certificates, Diplomas, Advanced Diplomas and Degrees); Application for admission to undergraduate qualifications for the 2025-2026 academic year will close on 11 August to 14 October.

Honours Degrees and Postgraduate Diplomas; The 2025-2026 academic year will run from  August 11th to October 14th, this application period for admission to honours degrees and postgraduate diplomas for the academic year.  Moreover, CTA programs have and early deadline. If there are vacancies after the initial closing date, additional applications periods will be announced.

Master’s and Doctoral Qualifications; Application for admission to master’s and doctoral qualifications for the 2025  academic year will close on 8 September – 14 November 2026.

NB: After these dates, only qualifications with enough spaces will remain open until the end of January 2025.

UNISA Application Requirements 2025-2026

Prospective students starting a new qualification must upload certified copies of all the required documents.  The required documents necessary for application are as follows:

• School qualifications (eg Senior Certificate, National Senior Certificate)
• official tertiary academic record(s) (if applicable) (internet copies will not be accepted
• ID document (RSA students) or ID/passport (international students)
• marriage certificate (if applicable) or divorce decree (if applicable)
• Sworn translations of documents if they are not in English or Afrikaans
