Apply To Unisa; Application date, Application fee, Application requirements as well as How to Apply.

Everyone wanting to start a new qualification at Unisa can apply for admission.

Application Date

Undergraduate Qualification; Application for admission to 2023 will be open from 1 September to 30 November 2023.

Honours Degrees and Postgraduate Diplomas; Application for admission to 2023 will be open from 1 September to 15 December 2023. There is an earlier closing date for CTA programmes. If there are still spaces open for the 2023 academic year, additional application dates will be released.

Master’s and Doctoral Degree; Applications for admission to 2023 will be open from 15 September to 6 November 2023. After that, only those qualifications with available spaces will remain open until the end of January 2023.

Unisa’s Short Learning Programmes; Semester modules will be open from 2 November 2023 – to 15 January 2024 while Year modules will be open from 2 November 2023 – to 26 February 2024.

Application Fee

The online application fee is R115 and the Hard copy application is R185. When applying for a short learning programme, there is no application fee. There will be no processing of any application submitted without an application fee paid on time. Application fees paid are not refundable even if the applicant does not qualify for admission or cannot be offered a space due to the limited spaces available.

Application Requirements

All first-time applicants and Unisa students starting a new qualification must submit the required documents. The closing date for the various applications is due for uploading the following required documents:

  • Copy of school qualifications
  • Copy of official tertiary academic record(if applicable)
  • Certified copy of your ID document (RSA students) or ID/passport (international students)
  • Copy of your marriage certificate (if applicable) or divorce decree (if applicable)
  • Sworn translations of documents if they are not in English or Afrikaans

Before beginning the application process, please ensure that your documents are scanned and uploaded to an electronic device. You will have to re-apply during the next application period if your application for admission to study through Unisa is incomplete.
