How to Apply to UNISA for the 2025/2026 Academic Year Online:

Anyone wishing to start a new qualification, including first-time Unisa applicants, current students changing their qualification or specialization, those completing a higher certificate wanting to pursue further undergraduate studies, and those who were previously offered admission but did not accept or register, must re-apply for admission.
Applications for undergraduate qualifications for the 2025 academic year will be open from August 21 to October 11, 2024. Everyone applying for a new qualification, including first-time applicants and Unisa students starting a new qualification, must submit the required documents by the application closing date. Documents submitted after the closing date will not be accepted.

When To Apply Online For Unisa For 2025/2026
The administration of Unisa has announced the online application dates for the academic year 2025 as follows:
- Applications for admission to undergraduate qualifications for the 2025 academic year are to be open from 21 August to 11 October 2024.
- Applications for admission to honors degrees and postgraduate diplomas for the 2025 academic year are to be open from 21 August to 11 October 2024.
- Applications for admission to master’s and doctoral degrees for the 2025 academic year are to be open from 2 September to 22 November 2024 (some exceptions apply).
- Applications and registrations for Unisa’s Short Learning Programmes for the 2025 academic year will open in November.
Who Is Eligible To Apply For Unisa For 2025/2026
Anyone looking to pursue a new qualification must apply for admission, including:
- First-time Unisa applicants
- Current Unisa students changing to a new qualification or specialization
- Individuals who previously applied but were either not offered a space or who accepted an offer but did not register
- Students completing a higher certificate or other program who wish to continue with further undergraduate studies
Applications must be submitted within the designated application period.
Documents Needed To Apply For Unisa 2025/2026 Online Admission
All applicants starting a new qualification must upload all the required documents, which generally consist of the following:
- Copy of your school qualifications (eg Senior Certificate, National Senior Certificate)
- Copy of your official tertiary academic record(s) (if applicable) (internet copies will not be accepted)
- Copy of your ID document (RSA students) or ID/passport (international students)
- Copy of your marriage certificate (if applicable) or divorce decree (if applicable)
- Sworn translations of documents if they are not in English or Afrikaans

- Pay the application fee once you have received a student number from Unisa.
