Apply for NSFAS at Unisa 2023-2024
UNISA’s online application for NSFAS in the academic year 2023-2024 is now open. The National Student Financial Aid Scheme, or NSFAS, is a government loan available to only South African students to assist them in paying for their post-secondary education. Student financing applications for the 2023 academic year will be accepted from September 1 to November 30, 2023. All Unisa students interested in applying for NSFAS funding can do so online at www.nsfas.org.za. You must meet certain requirements before applying for Unisa NSFAS funding. Requirements for Unisa NSFAS Funding in 2023
To be able to qualify for the government funding (NSFAS) for Unisa University and TVET college studies, you have to
- be a South African citizen.
- register at any of the 26 public universities or 50 TVET colleges in South Africa.
- be a family with an income of below R350 000 per annum (combined).
Automatically, students who are disabled and students who are beneficiaries of social grants meet the qualifications for NSFAS funding in 2023. Candidates who wish to study towards postgraduate qualifications however don’t qualify for the Unisa NSFAS funding – you are then advised to look for funding from the National Skill Fund and the National Research Foundation.
NSFAS has done well by employing over 200 NFAS graduates who have not been employed to assist high learners throughout the country with the NSFAS application process. All these graduate students will go to high schools and all rural communities with no computer or internet access to help students. Apply for NSFAS at Unisa 2023-2024
