Apply to Unisa for the 2026-2027 study year by the following dates:
- Applications for admission to undergraduate qualifications for the 2025 academic year are to be open from 2 September 2025 to 18 November 2025.
- Applications for admission to honours degrees and postgraduate diplomas for the 2025 academic year are to be open from 2 September 2025 to 18 November 2025
- Applications for admission to master’s and doctoral degrees for the 2025 academic year are to be open from 16 September 2025 to 11 November 2025 (some exceptions apply).
- Applications and registrations for Unisa’s Short Learning Programmes for the 2025 academic year will open 8 January to 15 February 2025 for 1st semester modules and 8 January to 15 March 2025 for 2nd semester and year modules.
NB: All applications must be completed and submitted before the closing date. Due to limited spaces, late applications may not be considered.
Unisa Online Application Required Documents 2026-2027
To be able to apply online via www.unisa.za, you need to have the following required documents:
- A copy of your official tertiary academic records (if applicable)
- A copy of your marriage certificate or divorce decree (if applicable)
- A copy of Sworn translations of documents if they are not in English or Afrikaans
- A copy of your school qualifications (eg Senior Certificate, National Senior Certificate)
- A copy of your ID document (RSA students) or ID/passport ( for international students)
NB: Please the University of South Africa (UNISA) is not providing scanners or electronic devices. So, make sure that all your documents are scanned and uploaded to an electronic device before you begin the online application process.
