Unisa Modules; Each Unisa qualification is programmed in such a way that you need to register and pass a certain number of modules and NQF level credits within a certain amount of time normally within the semester in order to graduate. Due to this, is very important that you mange your studies to be able to pass a certain number of modules you will select for each semester or year you register.

When To Submit Modules

It is the responsibility of the student to submit his or her modules for registration through the prescribed registration modes before the closing date. The minimum prescribed fee for all modules submitted for registration must be submitted by the closing date for registration.

When To Choose a Modules

You have to pass the module at the lower level first before you can choose a module. Also, you have to complete the minimum number of credits before Unisa can grant you a qualification. Modules must be completed at the required NQF level.

How Much To Pay For Modules

The cost depends on the qualification, obviously, as well as the number of modules you choose. The average student registers for between 4 and 6 modules per year at a cost between R1 665,00 and R4 835,00 per module. The module costs do not include your prescribed books but books are an additional cost that you must factor into your calculations for your full costs of study.

How To Choose Modules

Modules can be choose during registration process. When registering, click on modules from the drop-down list for which you want to register to choose a module. Choose the modules you want and make sure you do the following:

  • You must meet all the pre-requisites and co-requisites for the selected modules
  • Enter the correct module code
  • Select the correct semester (1 = first semester and 2 = second semester)
  • Indicate in which language you want to receive your study material (English or Afrikaans). The language of tuition for each module is indicated in the module information.
