Applications open on 1 September and close on 19 December. That gives you a clear window to prepare all your supporting documents; do not wait until the last week.
Admission is competitive. To qualify for the Unisa MBA in 2027, you need a Bachelor’s Honours Degree or a Postgraduate Diploma with a minimum of 120 credits, OR a 480-credit Bachelor’s Degree. You must supply a copy of your academic transcript showing your symbols or percentages and completion status. You will also need a recent detailed CV proving three years or more of managerial or professional work experience, and a clear copy of your ID or passport; driver’s licences are not accepted. Once your application is successful, you may be required to write an admissions test as part of the final selection process.

- Applications are online only. Applications for admission to master’s and doctoral degrees are to be open from 1 September to 19 December 2026.

Applications for the following qualifications will, however, remain open until the end of June 2027:
- All qualifications in the College of Science, Engineering and Technology (excluding Computer Science &
- Information Science qualifications)
- Doctor of Philosophy (90040) – SET, MAT, TEC, CHE, COM, LIF, AST, STA, SCE & PHY options
- Master of Science in Nature Conservation (full dissertation) (98022)
- Qualifications in the Department of Decision Sciences (98597 – ORE; 98598; 98701)
- MPhil in Financial Management (90158)
- PhD in Management Studies (90021 – FIN)

Unisa MBA Qualification Admission Requirements 2027
Applicants applying for an MBA qualification must hold one of the following documents:
- A three-year, 360-credit bachelor’s degree, national higher diploma, or advanced diploma
- An appropriate bachelor’s honours degree
- A postgraduate diploma
- A 480-credit bachelor’s degree with at least 96 credits at level 8
- Have at least three years of relevant managerial, specialist, or professional experience to contribute effectively to the program.
- Submit an abbreviated CV.
- Applicants meeting the minimum criteria may need to take the GSBL Admissions Test as part of the final selection process.
- All students with foreign qualifications, including those from African countries, must have their qualifications evaluated by SAQA (www.saqa.org.za).
Admission requirements and supporting documents
- A Bachelor’s Honours Degree or a Postgraduate Diploma, with a minimum of 120 credits, OR a 480-credit Bachelor’s Degree. Please supply a copy of your transcript, indicating the symbol or percentage obtained for each module and indicating whether or not the qualification was completed.
- A recent detailed Curriculum Vitae indicating three years or more managerial/professional work experience.
- Supply a clear copy of Identity Document or Passport. A copy of a driver’s licence will NOT be accepted.
- Once the application is successful, applicants may be required to write an admissions test as part of the selection process.
Unisa MBA Qualification Application Fee 2027
Pay the online application fee of R160.00 after receiving your Unisa student number.

- The application fee is non-refundable, even if you decide not to study at Unisa or do not qualify for admission.
- Use your Unisa student number and the application fee reference number (e.g., STUDENT NUMBER 5370810030).
- Send your proof of payment to susdepid@unisa.ac.za.
- Visit www.unisa.ac.za/paymentinfo for payment methods and banking details. International students should use the Flywire payment option.
Remember, obtaining a student number does not mean you have applied for admission. You must complete the online application for admission and upload the required supporting documents after receiving your student number.
