Flowing from its social responsibility to address past inequalities, Unisa has an application and selection process that addresses historical imbalances without sacrificing quality standards. This process helps the university provide better support to students while aligning intake with available academic capacity and infrastructure.

The Unisa Application Forms 2027-2028 are for undergraduate qualifications, honours degrees and postgraduate diplomas, and are open from 17 August to 9 October 2026. All forms must be completed online via the official Unisa application portal; no hard-copy forms are accepted. Every new applicant must pay a non-refundable application fee of R160 after obtaining a student number; otherwise, your form will not be processed.

Everyone wanting to start a new qualification must apply. This includes first-time applicants, current Unisa students changing to a new qualification or specialisation, students completing a higher certificate who want to continue with undergraduate studies, and applicants who previously applied but were offered a space and did not accept or register. Students intending to enrol at a TVET college under the Unisa-TVET agreement must also complete the forms.

For other study levels, the forms for master’s and doctoral qualifications will be available from 1 September 2026, while Short Learning Programmes open on 2 November 2026. • Minimum Academic Points Score APS) for your qualification(s) of choice.
• Have a valid Email Address and a Cell phone number, and accept that Unisa will communicate with you during the application process through them. You must check your email frequently for information about your application.
