Unisa Application 2025 Opening Date:

The University of South Africa (UNISA) is the country’s largest university, attracting one-third of all higher education students. Application Dates For Admission At UNISA 2025-2026

Applications for the academic year 2025 study season will be open by the following dates:

• Applications for admission to undergraduate qualifications for the 2025 academic year are to be open from 21 August to 11 October 2024.
• Applications for admission to honors degrees and postgraduate diplomas for the 2025 academic year are to be open from 21 August to 11 October 2024.
• Applications for admission to master’s and doctoral degrees for the 2025 academic year are to be open from 2 September to 22 November 2024 (some exceptions apply).
• Application and registration for Unisa’s Short Learning Programmes are open from 14 May to 19 July.

Who Can Apply To UNISA For 2025-2026

The University of South Africa, UNISA application for admission to the 2025 academic year is online. If you want to study at UNISA for a new Undergraduate, Postgraduate, Honours, Master, or Doctoral program, you have to apply for admission. The following people may apply to UNISA for the 2025-2026 academic year;

• first-time Unisa applicants
• Those in their final year of an undergraduate qualification who want to continue with postgraduate studies.
• Applicants who are in their final year of a qualification wishing to begin a master’s or doctoral qualification
• Candidates completing a higher certificate or any other program who want to continue with undergraduate studies
• Applicants who earlier on applied for admission were not able to be offered a space.
• Applicants who were offered a space and accepted the offer but did not get the opportunity to register
• UNISA Students willing to apply for a new qualification
• Students who registered for master’s & doctoral qualifications but did not register for the 2025-2026 academic year and now wish to continue with their studies.
• UNISA students who are changing to a new qualification or specialization of their current qualification.

The following documents are required to apply for the 2025-2026 academic year;

• Copy of your school qualifications (eg Senior Certificate, National Senior Certificate)
• Copy of your official tertiary academic record(s) (if applicable) (internet copies will not be accepted)
• Copy of your ID document (RSA students) or ID/passport (international students)
• Copy of your marriage certificate (if applicable) or divorce decree (if applicable)
