  • Applications for admission to undergraduate qualifications for the 2026 academic year are to be open from 21 August to 11 October 2024.

Please take note of the following:

  • All applications for admission must be submitted online.
  • Admission to a qualification is not automatic. It will depend on whether you comply with the admission requirements and if space is available.

  • Department of Financial Accounting
  • Department of Management Accounting
  • Department of Auditing
  • Department of Taxation

UNISA College Of Accounting Application Requirements 2026

Your admission to Unisa is dependent on you meeting the specific admission requirements for your chosen qualification.

  • A National Senior Certificate (NSC) (Degree endorsement) with at least 50% in the language of teaching and learning and with at least 50% in Mathematics or a 60% in Mathematical Literacy,
    or
  • a Senior Certificate (SC) with matriculation exemption (or qualify for the exemption from the Matriculation Board) and with at least a D symbol on HG or a C symbol on SG in the language of teaching and learning and with at least
  • a D symbol on HG or a C symbol on SG in Mathematics,
    or
  • a Higher Certificate in Accounting Sciences
    or
  • an appropriate Higher Certificate in Economic and Management Sciences,
    or
  • an Advanced Certificate in Accounting Sciences,
    or
  • a Diploma in Accounting or Accounting Sciences.

Applicants who do not meet the admission requirements as indicated above should apply for a lower NQF level qualification for which they meet the statutory and additional requirements.

Postgraduate and Professional Pathways

For those seeking advanced qualifications, UNISA offers a Master of Accounting Sciences (with specialisations such as Auditing), which further prepares graduates for leadership roles in the profession. The master’s programme is full-time, with a typical duration of 36 months, and includes advanced coursework in management accounting, taxation, auditing, and financial accounting for companies.
