Congratulations! You’ve been accepted to the University of South Africa (UNISA), one of the country’s top institutions recognised for its dedication to educational quality. Understanding the process of accepting your offer and what to expect when you begin your studies at UNISA is important. Accepting your offer at UNISA is a basic procedure. When you get the offer letter, carefully check all of the facts it contains, including the programme you have been accepted into, the semester start date, any special criteria or restrictions, and other pertinent information.
NB:
- The University will inform applicants the outcome of your application. If applicants application is successful, the University will indicate for which qualification applicant are being offered a space.
- Students must accept Unisa’s offer within the prescribed period of time. If you fail to do so, Unisa will withdraw the offer and give your space to another applicant.
How Do I Accept Unisa’s Offer?
Unisa will evaluate your application, including points system. You may be offered a space for the 2024 academic year if you meet the academic admission requirements for your qualification of choice, have a minimum academic points score (APS), and there are spaces available for the qualification for which you have applied. To accept your UNISA offer;
- Go to www.unisa.ac.za/acceptoffer
- Click on “Offer” and follow the instructions.

What To Do After Receiving An Offer
- First-time Unisa candidates must take the First-Year Experience MOOC (massive open online course). The FYE MOOC (UOL009-FYE101_2023) aims to orient and equip first-time entering students to effectively complete their studies at Unisa. Please keep in mind that you will be unable to accept Unisa’s offer (step 2 below) until you have finished Unisa’s free online MOOC.
- Following completion of the FYE MOOC, you must accept or refuse Unisa’s offer for the 2023 semester 2, academic year within the term specified (10 days, unless otherwise specified in the offer e-mail). Go to www.unisa.ac.za/acceptoffer to accept or refuse Unisa’s offer.
- Register for the academic year 2024. The enrollment period for the 2024 academic year will be available from 3rd July to 14th July 2024. It is essential to register for the specific period granted for your admission. Failure to do so will require you to reapply for admission during the next application window.
