The University of  South Africa is now receiving online applications for the 2025-2026 academic year. If you are interested in pursuing undergraduate qualifications such as Higher Certificates, Advanced Certificates, Diplomas, Advanced Diplomas, or Degrees, seize the opportunity and submit your applications today.

The online portal is now accessible to both South African students and foreign students, granted they meet the admission criteria.  Applications must be completed through the official website at www.unisa.ac.za.  Students can freely apply from the comfort of their homes, as the online application process is straightforward, easy, and simple.

Apply to Unisa for the 2025/2026 study year by the following dates:

• Applications for admission to undergraduate qualifications for the 2025 academic year are to be open from 21 August to 11 October 2024.
• Applications for admission to honours degrees and postgraduate diplomas for the 2025 academic year are to be open from 21 August to 11 October 2024.
• Applications for admission to master’s and doctoral degrees for the 2025 academic year are to be open from 2 September to 22 November 2024 (some exceptions apply).
• Applications and registrations for Unisa’s Short Learning Programmes for the 2025 academic year will open in November.

NB: All applications must be completed and submitted before the closing date. Due to limited spaces, late applications may not be considered. 

Unisa Online Application Required Documents 2025-2026

To be able to apply online via www.unisa.za, you need to have the following required documents:

• A copy of your official tertiary academic records (if applicable)
• A copy of your marriage certificate or divorce decree (if applicable)
• A copy of Sworn translations of documents if they are not in English or Afrikaans
• A copy of your school qualifications (eg Senior Certificate, National Senior Certificate)
• A copy of your ID document (RSA students) or ID/passport ( for international students)

NB: Please The University of South Africa (UNISA) is not providing scanners or electronic devices. So make sure that all your documents are scanned and uploaded to an electronic device before you begin the online application process.

The University of South Africa (UNISA) has currently opened its online application portal and is accepting returning and new students across all qualifications for the 2025-2026 academic year. Via UNISA’s official website, prospective students are encouraged to apply before the designated closing dates for online applications in 2025. • Navigate to the registration portal and click on ” Apply for Admission
• Click On “Apply Now“
• Complete the application form with the required information
• Upload certified copies of supporting documents
• Pay your non-refundable application fee of R125.00
• Cross Check your application to ensure that your application is complete
