Unisa always gives a second chance to those who could not meet the first-semester registration deadline to enrol for the second semester. Undergraduate semester 2 modules registration at Unisa for the 2027-2028 academic year is open from the 29th of June through to the 23rd of July.

Who Can Apply to Unisa?

Eligibility to apply for the 2027 second semester includes:

• First-time applicants to Unisa.
• Current Unisa students wishing to change qualifications or specialisations.
• Applicants who previously applied but were not offered placement or did not register.
• Students completing a higher certificate or other programmes and seeking further undergraduate studies

Unisa Registration Requirements for the 2027 Second Semester

All applicants starting a new qualification must upload all the required supporting documents, which generally consist of the following:

• Copy of your school qualifications (eg National Senior Certificate)
• Copy of your official tertiary academic record(s) (if applicable) (internet copies will not be accepted)
• Copy of your ID document (RSA students) or ID/passport (international students)
• Copy of your marriage certificate (if applicable) or divorce decree (if applicable)
• Sworn translations of documents if they are not in English or Afrikaans
• Any additional documents that may be required for a specific Short Learning Programme
