If you are applying for a new qualification at Unisa, you must submit all required documents by the application deadline which will be available from 21 August to 11 October 2024. Documents submitted after this date will not be accepted. Unisa does not provide scanners or electronic devices, so make sure your documents are scanned and uploaded before you begin the application process.

Below are the online application dates for the various qualifications offered at Unisa for the year 2025:

Unisa Undergraduate Qualifications Application Date For 2025:

Applications for admission to undergraduate qualifications for the 2025 academic year are to be open from 21 August to 11 October 2024.

Unisa Honours degrees & postgraduate diplomas Application Date For 2025:

Applications for admission to honors degrees and postgraduate diplomas for the 2025 academic year are to be open from 21 August to 11 October 2024.

Unisa Master’s & Doctoral Qualifications Application Date For 2025:

Applications for admission to master’s and doctoral degrees for the 2025 academic year are to be open from 2 September to 22 November 2024 (some exceptions apply).

Unisa Master’s & Doctoral Qualifications Application Date For 2025:

Application and registration for Unisa’s Short Learning Programmes are open from 14 May to 19 July.

Unisa Online Applications Eligibility Criteria For 2025-2026

Everyone wanting to start a new qualification must apply for admission. This includes

first-time Unisa applicants.
Unisa students changing to a new qualification and/or specialization.
applicants who previously applied for admission and were not offered a space or who were offered a space accepted the offer and did not register.
students completing a higher certificate or any other program and who wish to continue with further undergraduate studies.

Unisa Online Applications Requirements And Documents For 2025-2026

All applicants starting a new qualification must upload all the required documents, which generally consist of the following:

Copy of your school qualifications (eg Senior Certificate, National Senior Certificate)
Copy of your official tertiary academic record(s) (if applicable) (internet copies will not be accepted)
Copy of your ID document (RSA students) or ID/passport (international students)
Copy of your marriage certificate (if applicable) or divorce decree (if applicable)
Sworn translations of documents if they are not in English or Afrikaans

Unisa applicants are to pay an application fee of R140.00
Use the student number you receive from Unisa AND the application fee reference number (ie YOUR STUDENT NUMBER 5370810030)

This fee is non-turnable even if you decide not to study through Unisa, do not qualify for admission to Unisa, or cannot be offered a space due to limited spaces available. Unisa does not accept cash at any of its offices.
