UNISA Application Opening & Closing Dates for 2025-2026

The University of South Africa (Unisa) online application opening and closing dates for the 2025-2026 academic year are listed below;

Applications for admission to undergraduate qualifications for the 2025 academic year are to be open from 21 August and be closed on 11 October 2024.
Applications for admission to honors degrees and postgraduate diplomas for the 2025 academic year are to be open from 21 August and close on 11 October 2024.
Applications for admission to master’s and doctoral degrees for the 2025 academic year are to be open from 2 September and close on 22 November 2024 (some exceptions apply).
Application and registration for Unisa’s Short Learning Programmes are open from 14 May to 19 July.

UNISA Online Application Requirement 2025-2026

Certified copies of the following documents are required of all applicants for the 2025-2026 academic year application:

A Copy of your school qualifications (Senior Certificate, National Senior Certificate)
A copy of your official tertiary academic records if needed (internet copies will not be accepted)
A copy of your ID document (RSA students) or ID/passport (international students)
A copy of your marriage certificate (if applicable) or divorce decree (if applicable)
Sworn translations of documents if they are not in English or Afrikaans.

NB: Some qualifications may require additional documents. Unisa reserves the right to request original documents and/or to verify the correctness of submitted documents at any time. Submitting fraudulent documents is an offense in terms of the Student Disciplinary Code.

UNISA Online Application Fee 2025-2026

A non-refundable application fee of R140.00 is required for all online applications. The application fee is non-refundable even if you decide not to study via Unisa, do not qualify for admission to Unisa, or are unable to be awarded a spot owing to a lack of available spaces. At all of its offices, Unisa does not take cash.

The application fee is payable on the last day of the application session. Any application that is not accompanied by a timely payment of the application fee will be rejected.
