Unisa Online Application 2025:

Everyone wanting to start a new qualification must apply for admission, including first-time Unisa applicants, Unisa students changing to a new qualification and/or changing the specialization of their current qualification, and applicants in their final year of an undergraduate qualification who wish to continue with postgraduate studies.

As a distance-learning university, Unisa offers a range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs, including diplomas, degrees, and certifications.  Its extensive range of subjects caters to students with varied interests and career objectives.

Everyone applying for a new qualification must submit the required documents (this applies to all first-time applicants and Unisa students starting a new qualification). Unisa does not provide scanners or electronic devices. Applicants are to make sure their documents are scanned and uploaded to an electronic device before starting the application process.

Unisa Online Application Date For 2025-2026

Below are the application dates for admission at Unisa for 2025/2026:

Unisa Undergraduate Qualifications Application Open Date 2025-2026:

• Applications for admission to undergraduate qualifications for the 2025 academic year are to be open from 21 August to 11 October 2024.

Unisa Honours degrees & postgraduate diplomas Application Open Date 2025-2026:

• Applications for admission to honors degrees and postgraduate diplomas for the 2025 academic year are to be open from 21 August to 11 October 2024.

Unisa Honours degrees & postgraduate diplomas Application Open Date 2025-2026:

• Applications for admission to master’s and doctoral degrees for the 2025 academic year are to be open from 2 September to 22 November 2024 (some exceptions apply).

Unisa Short Learning Programmes Application Open Date 2025-2026:

• Application and registration for Unisa’s Short Learning Programmes are open from 14 May to 19 July 2024.

UNISA Online Application Requirements 2025-2026

The following documents are required to apply for admission at UNISA;

• Copy of your school qualifications (eg Senior Certificate, National Senior Certificate)
• Copy of your official tertiary academic record(s) (if applicable) (internet copies will not be accepted)
• Copy of your ID document (RSA students) or ID/passport (international students)
• Copy of your marriage certificate (if applicable) or divorce decree (if applicable)
• Sworn translations of documents if they are not in English or Afrikaans

To apply for admission at Unisa for the 2025-2026 academic year, follow the steps below:

• Apply for a student number (only applicable if you do not already have a formal Unisa student number).
• Apply for admission.
• Upload the compulsory supporting documents.

NB: Documents are displayed in red on the upload platform. Students who gain qualifications outside the borders of South Africa must have their qualifications evaluated by the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) and upload a SAQA certificate of evaluation during the application process (https://www.saqa.org.za). Incomplete applications will not be considered.
