The mission of the College of Science Engineering and Technology (CSET) at UNISA is to offer accessible, affordable, high quality programs in science, engineering and technology. As a key component of the university,CSET is committed to providing education, fostering research endeavours and encouraging innovation with these fields.
CSET ( College of Science Engineering and Technology ) offers a diverse range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs spanning multiple disciplines. These include mathematics, physics, chemistry , computer science, information technology, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering and vArious other subjects.

School of Science:
The UNISA College of Science Engineering and Technology School of sciences is made up of the following departments:

- Department of Mathematical Sciences
- Department of Physics
- Department of Statistics
School of Engineering:
In the school of Engineering, students aspire to become proficient technicians and technologists across various engineering fields. They enroll in National Diploma courses in Engineering through open distance learning ( ODL). The College of Science Engineering and Technology’s School of Engineering comprises of the following departments.
- Department of Civil and Chemical Engineering
- Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering
- Department of Electrical and Mining Engineering
School of Computing:
The School of Computing offers a variety of undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral programs. A variety of specialized short learning programs are also available through the Centre for Software Engineering (CENSE). We have the knowledge and experience to get you to the top, regardless of your educational level. We’ve made a name for ourselves as a pioneer in the field of computing. It consists of the following departments
