A Unisa bridging course is a preparatory program offered by the University of South Africa designed to help students who do not meet the minimum entry requirements for a particular undergraduate degree. These courses provide additional academic support to improve students’ skills in specific subject areas, allowing them to qualify for admission into the degree programs.
Bridging courses at Unisa often focus on key subjects like mathematics, science, or languages and help students transition from high school (or equivalent) to university-level studies. They are short-term and are intended to close any knowledge gaps, giving students the foundation they need to succeed in their chosen field.
These courses are beneficial for those who did not achieve the required grades in certain subjects, students who have been out of school for some time, or those switching academic streams.
