Unisa 2025 Online Applications for Undergraduate Studies:

Unisa is recognised for offering fair and equitable access to higher education. In line with its commitment to addressing past inequalities, Unisa has developed an application and selection process that tackles historical imbalances while maintaining high academic standards. This process emphasises enhancing student support and aligning new student admissions with the university’s academic capacity and infrastructure, ultimately maximising students’ chances of success. The University of South Africa (UNISA) stands as one of the largest and most prestigious distance learning institutions on the continent, attracting thousands of ambitious students annually. Each academic cycle, applicants eagerly prepare to submit their applications to embark on their educational journeys. Understanding the application deadlines is crucial to ensure prospective students do not miss this essential step.

For the 2026-2027 academic period, UNISA has announced specific closing dates that all applicants must be aware of. These deadlines not only regulate the admissions process but also help candidates plan their academic and personal schedules effectively. Knowing exactly when to apply helps avoid last-minute challenges and guarantees consideration for desired courses. Prospective students should note that different programs may have varying application windows depending on their level and limited status. At Unisa, the selection process calculates your individual points score, considering your final Grade 12 marks and factors like the school you attended, gender, socio-economic group, and race; before applying, ensure you meet both statutory and college-specific admission requirements, as well as the required Academic Points Score (APS), which varies by college and qualification.

For instance, applications for certain undergraduate and postgraduate qualifications open and close within distinct periods. Staying informed of these critical dates is imperative to maintain eligibility and secure a place at the university. As UNISA continues to uphold its commitment to accessible education, timely application submission remains a priority for applicants pursuing academic excellence. This overview aims to provide a clear understanding of UNISA’s application closing dates for the 2026-2027 cycle, ensuring prospective students can plan accordingly and maximise their chances for admission success.  By adhering to these deadlines, applicants demonstrate their dedication and readiness to join UNISA’s vibrant academic community. A comprehensive grasp of these timeframes is an essential first step for anyone aiming to study at this esteemed institution.

Applicants seeking to begin a new qualification must apply for admission, including first-time Unisa applicants and current students switching to a new qualification or specialisation. If you are completing a higher certificate and wish to pursue further undergraduate studies, you must also apply for admission. Additionally, if you previously applied and were offered a place, but did not accept the offer or register, you must reapply for admission.
