University of Johannesburg (UJ) Online Application 2027

UJ Online Application for the 2027-2028 academic year will be open from 01 April and close on 31 October @ 12:00 for undergraduate studies. Therefore, those willing to study at UJ for 2026 must apply for admission before the application closing date. It is important to submit your online application form for 2026 on time to avoid a late application at UJ.

To apply online at UJ, visit the www.uj.ac.za online application portal 2027 and make sure you have all the required documents and meet the admission requirements. Online applications to UJ are free, and we caution you not to fall victim to such a scam. Hard-copy applications are R200 for South African students and R750 for international students.

The University of Johannesburg offers internationally respected and accepted certificates, diplomas and degrees at undergraduate and postgraduate level.

There are 178 undergraduate programmes to choose from; you can take your pick. These programmes are offered in the following eight faculties:

Checklist for Applying to UJ 2026

  • Valid email address (Gmail or Yahoo Mail account).

  • All documents submitted as part of the online application or requested by the University must be certified.
  • The Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) prohibits the University from processing applications via a third party.
  • Applications for all Undergraduate Curricular qualifications close at 12:00 on 31 October

New Applicants

  • Please consult the Undergraduate Prospectus to ensure you meet the minimum entrance requirements before applying.
  • Applicants may only apply for two study choices per academic year. These study choices may not be amended once they have been chosen.
  • In the case of applicants rewriting Grade 12 subjects, applications will be processed on the current results available.
  • If Grade 12 has been written more than once, then your combined results must be submitted with your application.
  • Applicants currently in Grade 12 may be requested to provide certified copies of final Grade 11 results for verification and auditing purposes.
  • The University of Johannesburg will not accept the American General Education Development (GED) test for entry into its undergraduate curricular qualifications.
  • Applicants who completed the American GED and would like to study towards an undergraduate curricular qualification at UJ must achieve a grade 12 NSC/IEB/SACAI or international equivalent.
  • The National Benchmark Tests (NBTs) are not part of UJ’s admissions requirements, and applicants are not required to write the NBTs to apply or gain admission to UJ.
  • The University of Johannesburg would like to alert you that there are individuals /companies claiming to work for, or with the University of Johannesburg and are charging a fee to assist with applications.

How to Apply Online at UJ 2026

The University of Johannesburg (UJ) Online Application for 2026 has a simple, easy and accurate process. Follow the steps below to apply online:

  1. Go to www.uj.ac.za/Apply 2027
  2. Select “Apply” to start the application
  3. Fill out the online application form with your details
  4. Upload your supporting documents
  5. Complete and submit your application for review

If you have previously applied and have a UJ student number, please call the UJ Call Centre (011 559 4555) to ensure that your cell number and email address are captured on our student database. This will ensure that you receive a PIN to complete the online application process.

Paper-Based Application

  1. Select your qualification study choices
  2. Ensure you meet the admission requirements as set out in this prospectus.
  3. If you do not have a UJ student number, please make an application fee payment of R200 and complete the UJ academic application form.
  4. Submit your application to any of UJ’s four campuses. Please allow for three weeks before checking on the status of your application.

If your application meets the requirements and there is space in your selected programme, you will be informed whether your application has been successful or not.
