Unisa provides Master’s degree programmes in a variety of fields, including Business Administration, Education, Humanities, Social Sciences, Science and Technology, and others. These programmes are meant to give students in-depth knowledge and advanced abilities in certain areas of study, equipping them for career growth or further research.
The 2026-2027 academic year presents an excellent opportunity for prospective students to pursue a master’s degree that combines academic rigour with the convenience of online study. UNISA’s master’s programs span various disciplines, including arts, sciences, business, and technology, catering to the evolving demands of the global job market. Applications for selected master’s degrees open from 16 September to 11 November 2025, emphasising the university’s organised and streamlined admissions process. Applicants are required to meet specific academic criteria, including submitting a comprehensive research outline, except for some coursework-based programs. The application and registration procedures are conducted entirely online, enabling students from different geographical locations to engage seamlessly with the institution.
Beyond academic learning, UNISA supports its master’s students through dedicated academic and administrative staff, guiding them throughout their study journey. The institution also encourages timely application submissions, as spaces for master’s programs are limited and allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. For international students, UNISA requires evaluation of foreign qualifications by the South African Qualifications Authority, ensuring global recognition of prior learning. Through its robust support services, modern technology platforms, and global outreach, UNISA fosters an inclusive and dynamic research environment. Consequently, the 2026-2027 UNISA master’s programs stand out as a reputable and valuable avenue for advanced education and career progression. The Master’s degree programmes at Unisa are mostly given through distance learning, which allows students to study from anywhere at their own pace.
