Unisa LLB
Unisa LLB Courses
Your Complete Guide to the UNISA LLB Program:
The LLB program at Unisa is a five-year undergraduate degree that offers students a firm foundation in law and legal concepts. Constitutional Law, Criminal Law, Family Law, Property Law, and other topics are covered in the curriculum. Students get a wide grasp of the legal system and its complexities by delving into many facets of the law.
The program is intended to enhance critical thinking, research abilities, and analytical reasoning, all of which are necessary for a successful legal profession. Students also participate in practical tasks and moot court simulations to hone their advocacy abilities and gain real-world experience with legal topics.
Applicants are to remember that, their admission to Unisa is dependent on them meeting the minimum admission requirements for the LLB qualification and college. Meeting these minimum requirements does not, however, mean that their application will automatically be accepted, as each application will be considered individually.

How To Choose Unisa’s LLB Modules
Choosing your LLB modules at Unisa for 2025 requires careful planning and consideration of the following factors:
Understanding the Structure:
- Unisa’s qualifications are structured to meet specific NQF (National Qualifications Framework) level credit requirements. To graduate, you must pass a set number of credits within a specified time frame.
Co-requisite and Pre-requisite Modules:
- Co-requisite: If a module (Module A) is a co-requisite for another module (Module B), you must register for both modules simultaneously. If you cancel Module A, Module B must also be canceled.
- Pre-requisite: For modules with prerequisites, you must pass the pre-requisite module (Module A) before registering for the subsequent module (Module B).
Credit Limits:
- You are limited to registering for a maximum of 60 credits per semester or 120 credits per academic year. Ensure that your chosen modules do not exceed this limit.
- This credit limit applies to new modules and does not include supplementary or aegrotat examinations from a previous semester. Non-degree or non-diploma modules also count towards this maximum.
Time Commitment:
Carefully consider how much time you can realistically dedicate to your studies each week. On average, you need to allocate:
- 6 to 8 hours per week for semester modules.
- 4 to 6 hours per week for year modules.
- Balancing your time effectively is crucial for success in the LLB program.
Strategic Planning:
- Plan your modules strategically based on your academic strengths, work commitments, and any personal responsibilities. Avoid overloading yourself, especially if you have limited study time.
- Make sure to factor in the requirements of co-requisites and prerequisites when selecting your modules to avoid any delays in your academic progress.
