How to Study at UNISA Without a Matric Qualification:

Matric courses, also known as matriculation courses, are subjects and programs that are part of the final year of high school education, usually in Grade 12. These courses are designed to prepare students for the matric exams, which are required for completing high school and gaining entry to higher education institutions. In South Africa, for instance, these courses are part of the National Senior Certificate (NSC) curriculum.

If you are interested in studying at Unisa without needing a matric, then you are in the right place because there are certain courses at Unisa which one does not require a matric before studying. People think that without a matric certificate, it is impossible to study further or get a decent career. But academically, matric is a qualification on NQF level 4 and is accredited on NQF level 4.

These courses don’t give you a matric certificate, but they will give you accreditation and recognised alternative qualifications that can be used to study up to NQF level 6. Matric does not prepare you for a specific job, but it is just an entry requirement to further studies.
