Everyone applying for a new qualification, including first-time applicants and Unisa students starting a new qualification, must submit the required documents by the application closing date. Documents submitted after the closing date will not be accepted.

UNISA Applications Admission Date 2025-2026

Unisa online application dates differ based on the level of study, qualification of study, and other factors. Application dates for the various qualifications at UNISA are as follows:

• Applications for admission to undergraduate qualifications for the 2025 academic year are to be open from 21 August to 11 October 2024.
• Applications for admission to honors degrees and postgraduate diplomas for the 2025 academic year are to be open from 21 August to 11 October 2024.
• Applications for admission to master’s and doctoral degrees for the 2025 academic year are to be open from 2 September to 22 November 2024 (some exceptions apply).
• Applications and registrations for Unisa’s Short Learning Programmes for the 2025 academic year will open in November.

Who Is Eligible To Apply For Unisa For 2025/2026

Anyone looking to pursue a new qualification must apply for admission, including:

• First-time Unisa applicants
• Current Unisa students changing to a new qualification or specialization
• Individuals who previously applied but were either not offered a space or who accepted an offer but did not register
• Students completing a higher certificate or other program who wish to continue with further undergraduate studies

Applications must be submitted within the designated application period.

• meet the statutory and college admission requirements for my qualification(s) of choice.
• meet the minimum academic points score (APS) for my qualification(s) of choice.
• have a valid e-mail address and cellphone number, and I accept that Unisa will communicate with me during the application process using this email address and cellphone number.
• If you do not have an e-mail address, you may create a free email address via Gmail before you start the application process.

All applicants starting a new qualification must upload all the required documents. Here are the documents required for the application:

• Copy of your school qualifications (eg Senior Certificate, National Senior Certificate)
• Copy of your official tertiary academic record(s) (if applicable) (internet copies will not be accepted)
• Copy of your ID document (RSA students) or ID/passport (international students)
• Copy of your marriage certificate (if applicable) or divorce decree (if applicable)
• Sworn translations of documents if they are not in English or Afrikaans
