Personalized Solar Quotes Estimator:

At SolarQuotes, they are dedicated to developing helpful and engaging tools for both current and potential solar power system owners in Australia. Their goal is to provide transparency by offering real data, unbiased reviews, and accurate calculations to help you make informed purchasing decisions.

Due to the increasing popularity of solar energy, many homeowners and businesses are deciding to switch to solar power. Therefore, determining the cost and potential savings of a solar panel system can be distressing. This is where a solar quotes calculator plays important insights into the financial aspects of going solar.

In this article, we will throw more light on the benefits of using a solar quotes calculator and how it can help you make an informed decision about your solar investment. A solar quotes calculator is an important tool designed to estimate the cost, savings, and return on investment (ROI) of installing a solar panel system.

By providing relevant information such as your location, energy consumption, roof size, and current electricity rates, the calculator generates personalized quotes tailored to your specific needs and circumstances.

Importance of Using a Solar Quotes Calculator

The following is the importance of using a Solar calculator:

Accurate Cost Estimation:

  • A solar quotes calculator gives a detailed breakdown of the upfront cost of installing a solar panel system, including equipment, installation, and permits. This enables you to budget effectively and avoid any surprises during the installation process. By considering factors such as government incentives, rebates, and financing options, the calculator gives you a clear picture of the total investment required for your solar project.

Savings Projection:

  • One importance of using a solar calculator is its ability to forecast the potential savings you can achieve by switching to solar energy. By analyzing your energy consumption patterns and local sunlight conditions, the calculator estimates your future energy bill savings over the lifetime of the solar panel system. Again, the calculator may provide insights into the payback period, indicating how long it will take for your solar investment to break even and start generating net savings.

Comparison Shopping:

  • With the help of a solar quotes calculator, quotes from multiple solar installers and financing options can easily be compared. This helps you to make an informed decision and choose the right solution that fits your budget and preferences. By analyzing different system sizes, panel types, and financing terms, you can optimize your solar investment and maximize your long-term savings.

Environmental Impact Assessment:

  • In addition to financial considerations, a calculator may also provide information on the environmental benefits of going solar. It can estimate the amount of carbon dioxide emissions avoided and the equivalent number of trees planted by generating clean, renewable energy from the sun. Understanding the environmental impact of your solar investment adds another dimension to your decision-making process and reinforces the importance of sustainability.

Solar Rebate Calculator:

When you purchase solar, a financial incentive known as the ‘STC scheme’ is available. While the government refers to it this way, it’s more commonly called the ‘Solar Rebate’.

The rebate amount depends on:

The number of solar panels you buy

Your location

  • The year of installation

In most cases, the rebate is already factored into the prices you’re quoted or see advertised for solar systems.

Solar & Battery Calculator:

Find out what your next four electricity bills could look like with solar power (and optionally, batteries). See how your savings change with the seasons, using local weather data. Our tool calculates your overall payback and shows how savings differ between solar panels and batteries, helping you decide if adding a battery is the right choice for you.

How It Works:

Total savings:

  • This calculator adds these to find your total savings

Exporting surplus solar:

  • for a ‘feed-in tariff’

Self Consumption:

  • When your home is using solar energy instead of the grid.

Adding a battery increases self-consumption by using stored solar energy at night, reducing your power bills even further. But batteries will also extend your payback time

Battery Calculator:

Calculate savings when adding a battery to your existing solar panel system. Simply input your electricity tariff, and the battery you are considering, and upload your smart meter data to get definitive battery savings and payback based on your real-life 12-month usage.

How it works:

  • By uploading your smart meter data we can see exactly how much spare solar you have throughout the year to charge a battery, and how much electricity you use after sundown.
  • SoloaQuotes uses this data to calculate exactly what your bill would have been for the previous 12 months if there was a battery charging from the solar during the day and powering your home at night.

Sun Tax Calculator:

How it works

NSW electricity network Ausgrid is offering a new, opt-in*, two-way tariff for solar. Ausgrid is not an electricity retailer but charges electricity retailers (like AGL, Origin, etc) to use their network. If the retailers choose to pass on these charges to you, this calculator shows the impact it will have on your bills.

Impact on your existing feed-in tariff (FiT):

  • 10am to 3pm = FiT reduced by 1.2c / kWh
  • 4pm to 9pm = FiT increased by 2.3c / kWh

If you are not in the Ausgrid network area, we’ll still show you what the impact would be, to help understand potential impacts if/when this rolls out across Australia.

  • This calculator will soon be updated to also include Endeavour 2-way tariffs.
