Who Can Register For Unisa LLB

To register for Unisa’s LLB (Bachelor of Laws) program, the following groups of students are eligible:

New Applicants and UNISA Students Applying for a New Qualification:

You can only register if you have received an official offer of placement from UNISA and have accepted the offer online.
UNISA reserves the right to cancel your registration if it is determined that you were incorrectly admitted to the qualification.

Re-registering Students:

If you are continuing with your LLB studies, you may register for the 2026 academic year once the registration period opens.

Important Note:

If you wish to start a new qualification instead of continuing with the LLB, you must apply online for the alternative qualification during the prescribed application period.

How To Choose Unisa’s LLB Modules

Choosing your LLB modules at Unisa for 2026 requires careful planning and consideration of the following factors:

Understanding the Structure:

Unisa’s qualifications are structured to meet specific NQF (National Qualifications Framework) level credit requirements. To graduate, you must pass a set number of credits within a specified time frame.

Co-requisite and Pre-requisite Modules:

Co-requisite: If a module (Module A) is a co-requisite for another module (Module B), you must register for both modules simultaneously. If you cancel Module A, Module B must also be canceled.
Pre-requisite: For modules with prerequisites, you must pass the prerequisite module (Module A) before registering for the subsequent module (Module B).

Credit Limits:

You are limited to registering for a maximum of 60 credits per semester or 120 credits per academic year. Ensure that your chosen modules do not exceed this limit.
This credit limit applies to new modules and does not include supplementary or aegrotat examinations from a previous semester. Non-degree or non-diploma modules also count towards this maximum.

Time Commitment:

Carefully consider how much time you can realistically dedicate to your studies each week. On average, you need to allocate

6 to 8 hours per week for semester modules.
4 to 6 hours per week for year modules.
