Estimate how much you want and what repayment term works via Capitec’s website or app.
- Choose application method: online, via app, or visit a branch.
- Fill out the application: personal info, employment, loan amount etc. Upload required documents.
- Capitec will do a credit and affordability assessment (income vs expenses vs existing debt).
- If approved, you’ll need to approve a “DebiCheck” debit order.
- Once everything is approved, the funds are deposited into your bank account.
What to check / what can cause delays or rejection
- If your expenses and existing debt repayments already consume a large part of your income, you may be declined.
- If you’re blacklisted or in debt review, you usually cannot get new credit until cleared.
- Missing or late documentation will delay processing.
- If your salary doesn’t go into a Capitec account, they’ll need proof of salary deposits.

- Look at the total repayment amount over the full term
- While the interest rate is an important factor, don’t let it be the only one
